Sóller

Sóller

Sóller is one of the most beautiful villages in Mallorca. It is located on the west coast of the island, and has a peculiar history different from that of the rest of the island due to its geographical location. The so-called Orange Valley is surrounded by mountains, which make up the Sierra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This topography makes it an ideal place for citrus growing.

Oranges, lemons, tangerines or clementines are symbols of the place, which has an interesting history of export to France and emigration to the Caribbean. The result of this past is an important architectural example of the valley, linked to the modernist style.

Sóller has one of the most peculiar railways, the Sóller Train, and also its tram, which connects with the port. The beautiful old town is full of small shops where you can find just about everything. In any alley you can discover a beautiful corner for photography. In addition, Sóller is located in a strategic position on the Pedra a Sec route, the network of hiking trails through the Serra de Tramuntana.

Port de Sóller

Port de Sóller

Located just 4km from Sóller, the Port of Sóller is the exit from the valley to the sea. It is the only bay on the west coast of Mallorca and the only refuge, with several family beaches, such as Can Generos or Platja den Repic. Shell-shaped, it is without a doubt one of the most idyllic places on the island.
In the historic fishermen there’re plenty of narrow alleys and “llauts”, the small traditional boat, moored at the docks. Excursions by boat, scuba diving, kayaking or even surfing are some of the activities to do in the area.

Relaxation and good food go hand in hand thanks to the many cafes, restaurants and varied gastronomic offer, which includes everything from tapas to elaborate dishes of local seafood or paellas. Sóller prawns are one of the star dishes. And we can’t forget the famous ice creams of Sóller. Saying goodbye to the day watching the sunset over the sea on the horizon and enjoying the sea breeze on one of the terraces is practically a must.

Fornalutx

Fornalutx

Named several times as the most beautiful village in Spain, Fornalutx is a charming mountain village with its typical stone houses, cobbled streets and flower gardens. Famous for its citrus orchards or palm trees, it is an Eden in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, and is in the middle of the hiking trail, which makes it especially attractive for walkers. The spectacular views are combined here with 17th century buildings such as the church or the defense tower. The peculiar hand-painted Mallorcan tiles are also one of the emblems of the village. Fornalutx has a bustling square full of cafes and restaurants.
